Lancashire Constabulary Security Officer
Lancashire Constabulary is seeking a proactive, professional and reliable Security Officer to help protect our people, premises and assets across the force estate. This is an important role within our Estates and Facilities team, providing a visible security presence and ensuring police buildings remain safe, secure and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the constabulary’s security protocols and procedures are promoted and adhered to by all staff and visitors and to maintain the security of Lancashire Police Headquarters and satellite sites.
- To control entry and egress of persons and vehicles on the Constabulary’s sites to prevent unauthorised access. Respond appropriately to attempts at unauthorised access or any other breaches of security.
- To maintain accurate electronic records, and to report any incidents to your line manager or Force Incident Manager within agreed timescales depending on priority and level of risk.
- To greet all staff and visitors appropriately and courteously and follow security protocols to ensure compliant sign posting of visitors to relevant destinations.
- To respond to alarm activations and take necessary actions and to prepare a report to the Security Supervisor documenting the outcome of any investigations.

Skills And Experience
- Security Industry Authority (SIA) License qualification or equivalent, or willingness to work towards within 2 years.
- Previous experience of working unsociable hours.
- Experience of maintaining accurate and legible records.
- Experience of communicating clearly and articulately at all levels internally and externally.
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team.
Vetting And Medical
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.
