We are seeking support staff to assist in the running of our safe supported accommodation project supporting new and expectant mums, babies and children up to the age of three. The successful candidate will provide trauma-informed support, advice and guidance to women and their children living in the project. The role may involve some out of hours working, but currently no overnight working.
As a Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Support Worker, you will provide support to women and children living in, or moving on from, our temporary safe accommodation. Your role will focus on promoting their safety, health, and wellbeing through a proactive and empowering approach. A key part of the role involves helping women access suitable long-term housing. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
