Interim Safeguarding Incident & Investigation Improvement Lead
6-month interim assignment | Remote (with travel to sites)
We are working with a leading organisation to appoint an experienced Interim Safeguarding Incident & Investigation Improvement Lead to support its UK business.
Experience of leading incident and investigations within safeguarding, childcare, education or another child-focused environment or law enforcement is required.
This is an interesting and high-profile project focused on strengthening the way safeguarding incidents and investigations are managed, ensuring that lessons are translated into practical improvements across the organisation.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will review findings and root-cause analysis arising from serious incidents, identify recurring themes and control weaknesses and develop clear remediation plans.
- Importantly, you will then work with operational teams to ensure agreed actions are implemented effectively, tracked and taken through to evidence-based closure.
The role will also support improvements to incident triage, escalation, investigation and reporting arrangements, help embed Group incident and investigation standards across the European business and provide targeted support on selected complex or high-risk incidents and investigations.

We are particularly interested in speaking to individuals who bring:
- Significant hands-on experience of incident management and investigations within a complex, regulated or multi-site organisation.
- Strong experience of root-cause analysis, remediation and organisational learning.
- The ability to turn investigation findings into practical corrective actions and drive these through to completion.
- Experience managing sensitive, complex or high-risk incidents and investigations.
- Strong stakeholder skills and the confidence to challenge constructively and work closely with operational teams.
- Experience within safeguarding, childcare, education or another child-focused environment would be particularly valuable.
- We would also be very interested in individuals from a policing/investigations background who have subsequently gained experience of organisational improvement, governance or incident management.
- Experience of implementing incident/case-management systems or tools would also be beneficial.

This isn't purely an investigations role. We are looking for someone who can understand what has happened, identify the underlying causes and then work with the organisation to ensure that meaningful improvements are implemented and embedded.
The assignment is initially for six months and can be delivered predominantly remotely, although travel to UK sites will be required.
