Hull | 32 hours per week | 52 weeks per year

£25,023 per annum FTE (Actual Salary £21,641.51 per annum)

About The Role

The Safeguarding Support Officer plays a key role in identifying and supporting the college's most vulnerable learners, including students with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), high needs learners, ESOL students, and other students at increased risk of harm, exploitation and disengagement.

Working as part of the wider Safeguarding Team, the post-holder will focus on the early identification of welfare and engagement concerns, with particular emphasis on monitoring poor attendance where there has been no response to tutor attempts at tracking, understanding the reasons behind non-attendance, and taking proactive, relationship-based action, including welfare home visits to check on student wellbeing and support their re-engagement with learning.

This role will require regular travel between campuses and to student home addresses across the local area, in line with the college's lone working policy. A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
