Your working arrangements will be flexible, based on the needs of the role, our customers and your preferences (agreed with your manager). Our offices are in Seaham and Bishop Auckland, and this role will require an on-site presence for part of the week.
About the role
The Safer Neighbourhoods Manager will lead and manage the delivery of high quality, customer focused services that prevent and address antisocial behaviour, hate related incidents, and serious breaches of tenancy, helping to create safe, sustainable communities and positive outcomes for customers. The role is responsible for ensuring services are delivered consistently, proactively and in line with organisational values, regulatory expectations and legislative requirements.
Working closely with colleagues and external partners, including the police, local authorities and community safety agencies, you will provide leadership to the Safer Neighbourhoods Team, drive service improvement, and ensure the effective use of prevention, intervention and enforcement approaches to protect customers, support communities and maintain tenancy standards.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the delivery of frontline Safer Neighbourhood services including local issue resolution, enforcement of tenancy breaches, hate-related incidents, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding concerns and other complex neighbourhood matters, ensuring cases are managed appropriately, proportionately and in line with policy and procedure
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external partners including local authorities, police, support agencies, elected members and community representatives, to improve outcomes for customers and communities ensuring responses are coordinated and effective, and where possible links with initiatives to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour in the area
- Contribute to the development, review and implementation of policies, procedures and service standards relating to enforcement, antisocial behaviour and tenancy management, ensuring services are compliant, consistent and reflect legislation, regulation and good practice
- Use customer insight, performance data, demand information, complaints, learning and sector best practice to identify themes, trends and improvement options, and prepare clear reports and recommendations that support decision-making, shape the service, reduce tenancy failure and improve neighbourhood outcomes.
