Lead the assurance that protects our people, projects and performance
As our Safety & Assurance Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring Capital Delivery activities are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with Cadent's standards and expectations. This isn't just about auditing processes – it's about providing leadership, assurance and expert guidance that helps mitigate risk, improve performance and strengthen our safety culture across the business.
Working closely with the Director of Capital Delivery, Head of Safety & Engineering and wider leadership teams, you'll lead the Capital Delivery Risk Assurance Team, overseeing assurance activity across all project types and contract partners. You'll provide independent challenge, identify opportunities for improvement and help ensure key business and safety risks are effectively managed.
This is a highly influential role that combines leadership, strategic thinking and operational assurance, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on how Capital Delivery manages risk, safety and compliance.

- Stakeholder Influence – Build strong relationships across Capital Delivery, Operations, SHES teams and external stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.

What you'll bring
- Safety & Assurance Expertise – Strong experience within safety, assurance, compliance or risk management environments.
- Leadership Experience – Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance and deliver strategic objectives.
- Regulatory Knowledge – Strong understanding of CDM, RIDDOR, COSHH and wider health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Risk Management Capability – Experience delivering assurance reviews, audits and risk-based improvement programmes.
- Analytical Skills – Ability to interpret performance data, identify trends and develop recommendations that drive improvement.
- Stakeholder Management – Experience influencing senior leaders, project teams and supply chain partners.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset – Passion for improving processes, behaviours and organisational performance.
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Recognised health and safety qualification at certificate, diploma or degree level (or equivalent experience)
- ISO Lead Auditor qualification (or equivalent practical experience)
