JOB – Safety & Compliance Manager

LOCATION – Hampshire

TERM – Permanent

SALARY – £60,000 - £70,000 (Dependent on Experience)

My client is an established maintenance and servicing organisation based in the Hampshire area. With decades of experience in the Authorised Service Centre, providing specialist maintenance, repair and overhaul services across airframe, component and blade operations.

Requirements

The Safety & Compliance Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of UK Part 145 and associated regulatory requirements and procedures
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience across both airframe and component maintenance, ideally covering Part 145 A and C ratings
  • Previous experience within an aviation, aerospace, helicopter or aircraft maintenance environment
  • Experience managing Quality Management Systems and Safety Management Systems within a regulated environment
  • Relevant training or qualifications in Quality Auditing, Root Cause Analysis and Part 145
  • Strong knowledge of internal and external audit processes, corrective actions and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage regulatory documentation and compliance requirements
  • Ability to assess suppliers and subcontractors and conduct quality audits
  • Previous CAA/EASA approval on Form 4 for a Part 145 Safety and Compliance Manager position would be advantageous

Responsibilities

The Safety & Compliance Manager role will involve:

  • Managing the independent Quality System to ensure continued compliance with UK Part 145, EASA Part 145 and FAA Repair Station approvals
  • Managing the company's Safety Management System to meet current regulatory requirements
  • Liaising with the Maintenance Manager on all matters relating to safety, quality and compliance
  • Establishing and maintaining maintenance procedures to ensure good maintenance practices and regulatory compliance
  • Monitoring and amending company expositions, procedures and associated documentation
  • Managing the internal and external audit programme and corrective actions arising from audits
  • Ensuring appropriate systems are in place to monitor and maintain staff competence
  • Managing tool control systems and the calibration of measuring equipment
  • Ensuring all relevant technical information and maintenance instructions are current, controlled and readily available
  • Assessing subcontractors and suppliers to ensure they meet the required quality standards
  • Conducting audits of subcontractors and suppliers where required
  • Assessing new and used aircraft components and materials to ensure they meet the companies quality requirements
  • Supporting the continued development of the company's safety, quality and compliance processes
