Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
Contract: 12 Month FTC
About The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Safety Compliance Team Leader to lead our Statutory Compliance team and ensure the highest standards of regulatory compliance across our property portfolio.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine your technical knowledge and leadership skills with a strong focus on customer service, operational efficiency and commercial performance. You’ll act as a key point of escalation, drive process improvements and ensure the team consistently delivers an efficient, compliant and high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and support the Statutory Compliance team on a day-to-day basis.
- Allocate and monitor workloads, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and within required timescales.
- Maintain oversight of the portfolio, including certificate and inspection expiry dates.
- Process and verify safety certificates using the relevant compliance software.
- Communicate expired or outstanding certificates to internal departments and ensure appropriate action is taken.
- Act as the main escalation point for complex compliance issues and customer queries.
- Manage absence and sickness effectively, ensuring continuity of service.
- Support the team during periods of annual leave and absence.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Support the onboarding, training and ongoing development of team members.
- Act as a key user and main point of contact for True Compliance.
- Attend relevant meetings on behalf of the team, providing updates and gathering feedback where appropriate.
- Support effective complaint handling and work to minimise unnecessary escalations.

About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills. You’ll ideally have:
- 3–5 years’ experience in Property Management Compliance or a related field.
- Previous experience in a Team Leader or management role, ideally for at least one year.
- Strong knowledge of statutory safety and certification requirements for tenanted residential properties.
- An in-depth understanding of legislation and regulations applicable to residential lettings.
- Experience of lettings processes and deal progression.
- A relevant qualification and/or strong practical industry experience.
- Experience using compliance, audit or property management software.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
