Safety Critical Operative ¦ PTS Rail
Location: Inverness, Scotland
About Us
We are a dynamic and fast-paced business unit dedicated to delivering a variety of civil engineering projects across Scotland. Our work spans multiple disciplines, serving a diverse clientele that includes local authorities, Network Rail, and environmental agencies. Our current projects range from highways and bridges to flood alleviation and rail infrastructure.

- Civils Asset Management (CAM)
- Renewals Enhancement Framework (REF)
- Slabtrack framework
- Numerous live infrastructure projects and long-term maintenance frameworks
Available Roles
We have exciting permanent opportunities for experienced Safety Critical rail staff in the following roles:
- ES (Electrical Safety)
- COSS (Controller of Site Safety)
- RETB (Railway Electrical Test Bed)
- Points Operators
Responsibilities
In these roles, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees and others under your supervision.
- Implementing company and client Health & Safety and Environmental initiatives.
- Reporting any unsafe practices and promoting a continuous improvement culture.
- Leading, supervising, and effectively monitoring both direct and subcontract labour.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant legislation, contract terms, and quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate records and producing formal reports on project progress.
- Identifying and managing changes in the scope of work.
- Assessing training needs for team members under your control.
Requirements
To succeed in these positions, you should have:
- Previous experience in a Safety Critical Environment in roles such as ES, COSS, RETB, or Points Operator.
- A valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certificate and associated competencies for the position.
