Location: Scotland
Hybrid Role - Frequent travel to client site in Aberdeen

Our Team
You will get involved in the development and delivery of equipment safety cases (Air Traffic Control Centres, Navaids, Radar, Voice Communications, etc.) for major projects in the civil and defence domains. You will manage the delivery of safety assurance documents to support the acceptance & certification process. You will engage with key projects to ensure new equipment is safe to enter operational service, in accordance with project schedules and appropriate regulation.
You will grow your functional safety experience, develop a practical knowledge of all safety tools, techniques, and methodologies, and gain experience of dealing with multi-disciplinary teams, occasionally in an international environment, managing stakeholders, leading safety workshops, and engaging with Regulatory authorities.

The Role
Ebeni’s Air Traffic Management (ATM) Business Unit is looking to recruit a bright, dynamic, and energetic Safety Engineer to contribute to a variety of projects within Airports, Air Navigation Service Providers, Ministry of Defence, Regulators, Equipment Manufacturers (Air Traffic Control), and the Advanced Air Mobility and Drone domains. You will:
- Lead tasks and manage smaller projects while undertaking safety engineering activities as defined by Project Safety Plans and in compliance with the principles identified in Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Identify and create evidence to support system assurance, using safety assessment techniques to support the traceability of system safety requirements to implementation and operation.
- Participate in / run hazard identification and risk assessment workshops with customers.
- Develop safety arguments and safety cases to support assurance and certification activities, including the identification of appropriate evidence to demonstrate that the arguments are reasonable, well-constructed, and justified.
- Undertake safety analysis via application of appropriate regulatory requirements, legislation, tools, and techniques.
- Liaise with system developers, certification bodies, Operators, Operational Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Facilities Management as necessary, regarding safety.

Skills & Experience
We want engineers with experience working in safety and risk, ideally within the Air Traffic Management / Aviation market. You will have gained some of the below skills & experience:
- Safety domain experience preferably in Air Traffic Management, we will also consider experience gained within Defence & Aerospace, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or Rail.
- Demonstrable experience of the application of safety and risk engineering processes to identify hazards and vulnerabilities, author safety cases and justifications, assess risk, and implement controls to reduce risk to an acceptable level.
- Ability to build effective and strong working relationships with clients and colleagues. To work effectively, professionally, and proactively with people, in face-to-face meetings and through interaction by video calls, telephone, and email.
- Attention to detail with an ability to work in a methodical manner and deal with complex situations.
- Able to communicate across all levels of the company. Articulate with an ability to negotiate, persuade, and listen.
