Summary
The role focuses on developing and implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization. The role offers opportunity to act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their knowledge and expertise related to the HSE Engineering discipline, solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve the products or services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification studies
- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental management systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company safety procedures.
- Participate in project design reviews, Hazard and Operability study (HAZOP), Hazard Identification (HAZID)
- Experience in conducting technical safety studies.
- Providing specialist technical input and advice to resolve complex problems.
- Project planning and manhour budgeting
- Prepare proposals and coordinating bids
- Support and guide junior engineers or team members where required,
- Ensure the business complies with all applicable local, national, and industry-specific regulations.
- Develop and deliver in-house health, safety, and environmental awareness training.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Safety, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a safety engineering or HSE role.
- Experience in various industries
- Knowledge of risk management techniques and safety assessment methodologies.

Skills and Competencies
- Experience with HAZOP, HAZID, Bow Tie Analysis, Fire & Explosion and Risk Assessments.
- Hazardous Area Classification
- Safety Critical Element Identification
- Human Factor Engineering
- Fault Tree Analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
