As a Safety, Health & Environment Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace for the people behind the success. Partnering with teams across engineering, manufacturing and business operations, you'll help ensure our campus remains a place where exceptional talent can innovate, collaborate and perform with confidence.

Purpose:

This role will be responsible for ensuring that employees comply with Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and supporting policies and procedures are adopted and adhered to. This role will drive continuous improvement and will help develop a cultural change in the mindset of all employees while ensuring a pragmatic approach to support the business needs.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) incident reporting and investigations, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Coordinate and deliver SHE training to meet campus needs and enhance awareness among the team.
  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including COSHH, risk assessments, LOLER, PUWER, Occupational Health, and fire safety requirements.
  • Organise and facilitate regular SHE committee meetings to promote engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement audit and workplace inspection schedules; report findings and track actions to completion.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 environmental management systems, supporting internal audits and preparation for external certification audits.
  • Promote SHE awareness across all organisational levels, ensuring communication platforms remain current and effective.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SHE key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with SHE legislation, keeping up to date with regulatory changes and communicating these to relevant teams.
  • Provide support with specific projects and the development of campus procedures.
  • Support the development and review of risk assessments, ensuring effective control measures are implemented in collaboration with departments.
  • Ensure that company-wide policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure the effective use of all Safety, Health and Environment tools and portals.

  • Professional certification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Exposure to working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding the principles of risk management and have experience with management systems including ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 and conducting internal audits.
  • Competent user of Microsoft programmes and Safety management software.
