What is the role?

During this two-year graduate programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience across our network, operational and safety teams. You’ll learn how we manage risk, maintain safe systems of work and support the safe operation of the transmission network. You’ll also complete a range of technical training, including incident investigation and network safety training. By the end of the programme, you’ll be equipped to progress into an Operational Safety Advisor role and provide trusted safety advice across the business.

What We're Looking For

You'll have a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in a relevant discipline such as Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering.

We're looking for graduates who are excited by the opportunity to develop specialist operational safety expertise, work alongside experienced industry professionals and play a key role in supporting the safe operation of the electricity transmission network.

  • Puts safety at the heart of their decisions and is confident speaking up or challenging where something does not feel right.
  • Communicates clearly and can build credibility with colleagues working in technical and operational environments.
  • Uses sound judgement and a practical, evidence-based approach to identify risks and solve problems.
  • Pays close attention to the detail and can understand and consistently apply technical rules, procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Takes ownership of their learning, responds positively to feedback and is motivated to build specialist operational safety knowledge.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
