Safety & Security Business Analyst
Location: Durrington, West Sussex (hybrid)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £35-40,000 depending on skills and experience

About the Role
To provide high-quality business analysis, insight and delivery support across Southern Water’s health, safety and security agenda. The role will translate data, risk, process and stakeholder requirements into clear analysis, reporting, improvement opportunities and practical delivery plans that support better decision-making, stronger assurance and improved outcomes for colleagues, customers, assets and the wider business.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Work with HSSW leaders and stakeholders to understand business needs, risks, processes and improvement opportunities across safety, wellbeing, physical security and assurance.
- Develop clear business requirements, process maps, options analysis and recommendations to support HSSW transformation, governance and continuous improvement activity.
- Produce high-quality analysis, dashboards, reports and papers for senior stakeholders, governance forums and regulatory or assurance activity.
- Analyse leading and lagging performance indicators, incident data, audit findings, risk information and action plans to identify trends, gaps and areas requiring intervention.
- Support the development and maintenance of HSSW plans, POAPs, trackers and performance reporting, ensuring actions, owners, milestones and benefits are visible and managed.

What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Proven experience in a business analyst, performance analyst, project analyst or transformation support role within a complex organisation.
- Experience working with operational, risk, assurance, compliance, health and safety, security or regulated business environments.
- Experience gathering requirements, mapping processes, analysing data and producing practical recommendations for improvement.
- Understanding of business analysis methods, including requirements gathering, process mapping, options appraisal and benefits tracking.
- Understanding of performance reporting, data quality, management information and dashboard development.
- Awareness of risk management, governance, assurance and compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills, able to interpret complex data and turn it into clear insight, recommendations and action.
- Excellent written communication skills, able to produce clear reports, papers, presentations and briefing materials for senior audiences.
