About This Role
As a Software Development Engineer, it’s up to you to define, design, and refine the tech that keeps us one step ahead of listeners. Anticipate. Innovate. Bring challenging ideas and we’ll support you with the latest tech, tools, and systems that you need to succeed. We pride ourselves on our ability to imagine and invent solutions to problems of the future. You’ll be essential in this forward-thinking approach to development. Together with the team, you’ll build and maintain our platform to bring thousands of stories to millions of listeners and unleash the power of the human voice.
About The Team
You'll join a backend engineering team at the heart of Audible's Creator Product organization—building technology that empowers creators around the world to produce audio content at scale. Audible’s Creators are talented storytellers, voice actors, producers, publishers, and our internal content teams. Our teams build innovative tools that let our experts focus on creation while helping them bring their art to millions of listeners. We also create value for Audible’s global consumers by helping them discover new content, talent, and stories they love and share. Our team builds the core infrastructure that powers Audible's creator platforms, enabling seamless workflows through AI-driven tools and services. We're growing quickly as Audible expands into new languages and markets. As a Software Development Engineer, you will...
- Develop, test, and maintain software components and applications for the world's largest audiobook creator and provider
- Design APIs and orchestration workflows that connect applications to AI-powered services
- Identify and resolve software defects through code review, log analysis, metrics examination, debugging, and other troubleshooting methods
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean, 5S or Kaizen methodologies.
- Experience planning or managing environmentally conscious initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
