Salaried GP | Swindon
Background
This role sits within one of the most tightly run and genuinely supportive working environments GPs will find in the Swindon area. Duty is capped at half day sessions, and heavy investment in workflow systems keeps the daily letter burden down to just 10 to 12 items per GP. If clinical work done properly, in a setting that actually backs its GPs, matters most to you, this one is worth a closer look.
Location
The practice is based in Swindon, in one of the town’s more sought after residential areas, and draws patients from across the surrounding region, including nearby villages to the east. Swindon is well placed for commuting from Bristol (around 40 minutes), Oxford (around 45 minutes) and Cheltenham (around 55 minutes).
The Practice
- Modern, purpose built premises in excellent condition
- Small practice with a pleasant, younger patient demographic
- Multidisciplinary clinical team including clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, first contact physiotherapists, care coordinators and ANPs, covering home visits and care home work

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
