Salaried GP | Hailsham
Background
This four session Salaried GP post has been created from scratch, designed specifically to give a newly qualified GP the space, support and manageable workload to build confidence early in their career. A lighter clinical model, a genuinely low home visiting burden and an experienced care navigation team taking on much of the triage legwork mean this role has been shaped around what someone in their first year or so post CCT actually needs.
Location
The practice is based in Hailsham, East Sussex, within easy reach of the coast and the South Downs. Eastbourne is around 15 minutes away by car, Lewes around 25 minutes, and Tunbridge Wells around 40 minutes, giving plenty of choice for anyone looking to settle locally or commute in from further afield.
The Practice
- Small, single site practice with a strong partnership team, a salaried GP team and a Paramedic Practitioner
- Actively investing in technology and future premises
- Genuinely well staffed practice and PCN, with a strong, sociable team ethos
- Uses EMIS Web
- Rated Good by the CQC
Your Role
- A four session post created specifically to give a newly qualified GP the time and support to find their feet
- 25 patient contacts a day, made up of 15 minute face to face and 10 minute telephone appointments, with around 30 minutes of admin time built into each session
- A genuinely low home visiting burden, with the vast majority covered by the practice’s Paramedic Practitioner
- No extended hours commitment, with evenings and weekends already covered elsewhere
- A supportive, triage led duty system backed by an experienced care navigation and admin team
- Scope to develop a specialist interest, with FSRH (sexual and reproductive health) experience, or a genuine interest in developing it, considered a bonus

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
