Job Description

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic GP to come and join our team at the Melbourne and Chellaston Medical Practice for 4-6 sessions a week.

We are a forward-thinking practice located in South Derbyshire. We have a passionate and supportive team with a passion for teaching, innovation, and excellent patient care. The successful applicant will work 4-6 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver high quality medical care for acute and chronic conditions
  • Review test results and action appropriately
  • Keep accurate medical records as per GMC best practice
  • Undertake home visits as needed
  • Complete dictations for referrals in a timely manner
  • Cover the duty doctor role on a pro rata basis
  • Work effectively as part of the clinical team, supporting allied health professionals such as our Urgent Care Practitioner, Practice Nurses and Clinical Pharmacists
  • Committed to self-learning and continuous professional development

About Us

At the Melbourne & Chellaston Medical Practice we have a tight knit team with approximately 15,500 patients. We pride ourselves on working well together, with a strong work ethic and a team who provide mentoring and support on an ongoing basis.

This team includes 5 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 1 x Urgent Care Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 Nurse Associates, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physio and a supportive admin team. We are also supported by our ICB pharmacists, midwife and care co-ordinators.

We are part of the Derby City South PCN. This is a partnership made up of 8 local practices in the Southern Derby areas.

GP appointment slots are either 10 or 15 minutes depending on GP Preference and we are working to 28 appointments a day.

We are a high QOF achieving practice.

Free parking for staff is available on site, along with a well-equipped kitchen and staff room area.

Qualifications

  • GMC registration and certification
  • Strong patient care and medication administration skills
