This Salaried GP vacancy has arisen from a colleague’s departure within a long-standing, settled team, and the practice is just as open to newly qualified GPs as it is to experienced clinicians, with fit and attitude weighted more heavily than years post-CCT.
Location
- The practice is based in Daventry, Northamptonshire
- Within easy reach of Northampton (around 20 minutes by car), Rugby (around 20 minutes) and Banbury (around 40 minutes)
- Good access to the M1 for those commuting from further afield
The Practice
- Established GP training and teaching practice, with links to a local medical school and the regional postgraduate deanery
- Mid-sized practice on a shared healthcare campus, with on-site diagnostic access, an on-site pharmacy and free staff parking
- Mixed urban and rural catchment, giving a broad and varied case mix
- Well-established multidisciplinary team, including Advanced Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, a Mental Health Nurse, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants
- Strong partnership team and large salaried GP team, offering a stable, well-established working environment
- CQC rated Good overall, with Well-led rated Outstanding

Your Role
- Six sessions per week, with a structured, protected appointment system working out at circa 12 to 14 patients per session
- Duty days built entirely around triage, with dedicated admin support and a fair rota (roughly one duty day every two weeks)
- Home visits built into the day as a single protected slot, rather than an unpredictable add-on
- No requirement to hold a personal list from day one, with the option to do so after three to six months
- Genuine scope to develop a clinical special interest alongside experienced colleagues
- Extended hours worked given back as time off in lieu
- Tier 2 (Skilled Worker) visa sponsorship available
- You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK Performers List
Salary And Benefits
- £11,000 per session, with a review to £11,660 per session on successful completion of a six month probationary period
- NHS Pension Scheme
- Professional fees covered
- Six weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- Single-stage interview process, with an optional informal visit beforehand
