Job Description

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, part-time (16 hours per week) post based in Slateford Medical Practice.

We are a city-based GP Practice seeking to employ a 4 session salaried GP for a fixed term from September 2026 until May 2027, however, there may be opportunity to extend this or for additional sessions after this date. Ideally, we would like the successful candidate to work all day Monday and Wednesday.

We have a patient population of just over 10,400 patients and we use Vision as our clinical system. The practice promotes a supportive, collaborative approach to work. We have daily huddles to discuss interesting and challenging cases.

We currently have a clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 6 salaried doctors, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 3 HCA’s, a Practice Mental Health Nurse, 2 Practice pharmacists, and 1 Senior Pharmacy technician. Our Admin team consists of a Practice Manager and Business Manager, 6 reception/admin assistants, 3 data administrators, and 2 secretaries. The GP Practice is part of purpose-built premises which also has in-house community services such as District Nursing, Health Visitors, School Nurses, and Midwives.

We are a sociable, animal-loving team. We are fortunate to have an outside seating area where we can all get together for coffee and lunch.
