Further Information

Salaried GP / Educational Supervisor

(GP Trainer, Clinical Supervisor or GP ready to take the next step)

Ashbourne & Brailsford | Gateway to the Peak District

Henmore Health is seeking a motivated Salaried GP who is either an approved Educational Supervisor, or an experienced Clinical Supervisor or experienced GP with the drive and commitment to become an Educational Supervisor within 18 months of joining us.

We know that the role is still often referred to as GP Trainer, and that may be the term candidates recognise. Formally, however, this is an Educational Supervisor role, with the opportunity to help shape training across Ashbourne and Brailsford.

About Henmore Health

Henmore Health is the largest Primary Care Provider in the South Dales, delivering services across Ashbourne and Brailsford. We are a values-led organisation with a strong executive structure, clear governance, and a commitment to modern general practice, education, sustainability and quality.

Our area offers an outstanding quality of life with immediate access to national park landscapes, outdoor pursuits, excellent schools, and strong community identity, all within reach of Derby, Nottingham and Stoke.

The Role

We are seeking a Salaried GP to join Henmore Health, working across our two sites at Ashbourne Surgery and Brailsford Surgery, as part of a stable, forward-thinking partnership and a growing training practice.

This role is suitable for a GP who wants to combine high-quality clinical care with a clear commitment to education, supervision and development of future GPs. We are keen to build resilience in our training capacity and need more than one trainer within the practice as our training offer grows.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You Will

  • Provide routine and on-the-day GP appointments across Ashbourne and Brailsford
  • Manage long-term conditions, complex patients and continuity of care within a well-supported system
  • Participate in clinical meetings, peer support and shared decision-making
  • Work collaboratively with ANPs, nurses, pharmacists, ARRS colleagues and the wider practice team
  • Contribute to service improvement, quality initiatives and practical clinical governance
  • Support the development of education, supervision and training across the practice

Education & Training Commitment

We would welcome applications from GPs who are already approved Educational Supervisors. We are equally interested in strong Clinical Supervisors or experienced GPs who are ready to take the next step.

We are looking for someone who genuinely wants to become an Educational Supervisor and is prepared to actively pursue that goal, not someone who may get around to it in a few years.

If you are not already an Educational Supervisor, you must be prepared to:

  • Apply for and join the very next suitable Educational Supervisor training programme available after appointment
  • Work actively towards approval as an Educational Supervisor within 18 months of joining Henmore Health
  • Show clear evidence of commitment, momentum and follow-through in progressing this qualification
  • Engage with mentoring, feedback and local training governance from the outset

We will support the right candidate to complete the programme, including practical support, supervision, protected development discussions and integration into our training infrastructure.
