Salaried GP | Near Telford, Shropshire
Background
This is a genuinely light-touch Salaried GP opportunity: a lower daily patient volume, fully pre-triaged, with no duty doctor day and next to no home visits. Sessional pay is banded by workload rather than seniority, so what is offered here reflects the working pattern chosen rather than length of service. Read on to find out more.
Location
This role is based in east Shropshire, near Telford, within easy reach of Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury. Telford itself is around 10 to 15 minutes away by car, with Wolverhampton around 25 to 30 minutes and Shrewsbury around 30 to 35 minutes.
The Practice
- Large GP Training Practice
- Access to an in-house home visiting team, including paramedics, so home visits are rarely required of GPs
- A relatively affluent, mixed catchment area
Your Role
- Fixed-term or permanent contract available
- Flexible days: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, or Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Around 25 patients a day on 15-minute appointments, with everything arriving pre-triaged so there is no direct patient triage for the GP to do
- No duty doctor day and no on-call requirement
- Effectively no home visits
- Working largely independently on site, supported by a nurse or healthcare assistant, with Partners across the wider group available for backup
- A higher-workload template also available for GPs who want a fuller day (and a higher salary)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
