Salaried GP | West Cumbria

Background

This is a genuine opportunity to join a forward-thinking training practice on the Cumbrian coast, with real flexibility around sessions and a supportive, multi-skilled team behind you. Workload is kept manageable through efficient systems and a strong admin team, and there is a clear route to a Lead GP role with extra responsibility over time. Newly-qualified GPs are just as welcome to apply as experienced candidates.

Location

The practice is based in West Cumbria and is commutable from places such as Carlisle, Cockermouth, and Whitehaven. The area offers dramatic coastal and Lake District scenery, a lower cost of living than many parts of the country, and a strong sense of community.

The Practice

  • GP Training Practice, with a registrar regularly on site
  • Purpose-built premises with modern facilities
  • Diverse multidisciplinary team including ANPs, a paramedic, pharmacists, and practice nurses
  • Consistently pilots local initiatives and has active expansion plans
  • Friendly, supportive employer with a strong, settled GP team

Your Role

  • 4 to 8 sessions per week, with flexibility on working days
  • 15-minute face-to-face appointments, circa 30 patients per day
  • Minimal routine admin thanks to clinical pharmacists and an efficient admin team
  • No routine home visits
  • Newly-qualified GPs are welcome to apply, alongside more experienced candidates
  • Development opportunities available towards a Lead GP role with extra responsibility over time

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
