The Client:

Our client is a large commercial practice known for its work across all premium insurance lines, including professional indemnity. The Manchester office has long played a key part in our client’s strategy to grow their insurance offering across the regions and that is set to continue.

The team advise on all kinds of traditional professional indemnity claims, as well as claims against construction professionals and those working in emerging professions. They also advise on coverage.

The team have a strong client list, including both insurance and corporate clients, and have achieved significant growth in recent years.

The Role:

In line with our client's succession plans, the partners wish to recruit a highly experienced lawyer to work closely with them on lawyers' liability claims and, potentially, other traditional professional indemnity claims.

The role will involve running a caseload of professional indemnity claims, supervising junior lawyers and playing a leading role in supporting the team’s ever-growing client base.

A client following is not required but would be advantageous.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous professional indemnity experience (8+ PQE)
  • An ability to prioritise workload
  • An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work with case management systems
  • The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers
  • Legal qualification required – solicitor/FCILEx
