Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Provide timely clinical care to gtd healthcare urgent care patients in the form of advice or face-to-face consultation whilst on shift.
• To ensure that where appropriate, the patient is referred for further management with the relevant service, e.g. secondary care specialties, community services.
• To proactively communicate with the Clinical Shift Leads and Senior Care Co-ordinators to ensure the smooth running of the shift.
• To be responsible for prioritization and timeliness of all consultations assigned to the shift.
• Work with colleagues to maximize effective and efficient delivery of care to patients.
• To work within the prescribing formulary, taking account of the minimum length of prescribed treatment.
• Provide clinical advice to both internal and external other staff as required (e.g. Clinical Shift Lead, Senior Care Co-ordinator, Triage Nurses, other GPs, District Nurses).
• Represent gtd healthcare in a professional manner when in contact with the general public and other professionals.
• Support locally developed urgent care pathways and community alternatives to admission, e.g. DVT service, alternative to transfer (ATT/PATS) scheme with NWAS.
• To support streaming of patients to or from co-located A&E services.
• On call shifts (optional): Doctors on call are expected to respond to phone requests within 5 minutes of call and to be able to attend at any of our centres within 1 hour.

Qualifications

• Essential
  • Hold full GMC Registration with a current license to practice and without any current restrictions/undertakings.
