Sales Account Administrator
Job Type: [Permanent / Full-Time]
Working Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:15am-4:45pm; Friday, 8:00am-2:00pm
About the Role
We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Sales Account Administrator to join our team and provide essential administrative and commercial support to our sales function.
This is a varied role where you will act as a key point of contact for customers, helping to manage accounts, process orders, prepare quotations and ensure customers receive a high level of service throughout the sales process.
You will work closely with colleagues across Sales, Operations, Finance and Logistics, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and keeping things running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Account Management
- Act as the primary administrative contact for a portfolio of customer accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, professional customer relationships.
- Support the onboarding of new customers, including account setup and documentation.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries relating to orders, pricing, lead times, deliveries and general account queries.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer concerns and technical queries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, pricing, costings and contract information.
Sales Administration & Support
- Prepare quotations, proposals and sales documentation with a high level of accuracy.
- Process customer orders accurately and ensure they are entered into the ERP system in a timely manner.
- Monitor order progress and proactively communicate updates to customers.
- Assist with sales reports, forecasts and performance KPIs.
- Provide administrative support to sales management, including meeting preparation, presentations, diary/calendar management and follow-up actions.
- Help organise customer visits, external meetings and trade shows.

Finance & Operational Support
- Work closely with Finance to support invoicing and resolve invoice queries.
- Assist with credit checks and payment follow-up where required.
- Ensure the ERP system contains accurate and current product, pricing, delivery and customer information.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when handling commercial and customer information.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve sales administration and customer service processes.
- Support the introduction and implementation of effective processes and best practices.
- Take ownership of tasks and contribute positively to the wider team.
About You
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, commercially aware and confident communicating with customers and colleagues.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in sales administration, account management, customer service or a similar customer-facing role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience using an MRP or ERP system.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- A customer-focused and professional approach.
- A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective when working under pressure.
Desirable
- Experience working within a fast-paced commercial or sales environment.
- Experience with sales reporting, forecasting or data analysis.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering or another technical/commercial environment.
