Are you a salesperson who enjoys winning business, building customer relationships, and seeing your earnings grow alongside your results?
Crown Oil is looking for a Sales Account Manager to join our busy B2B sales team at our headquarters in Bury. You’ll start by managing and developing existing fuel customers while learning our products and market. As your experience grows, so will the opportunity—building your own pipeline, winning new customers, and developing a customer base of your own.
No fuel industry experience? That’s absolutely fine. We can teach you the industry. We’re looking for sales experience, confidence, resilience, and the hunger to grow.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing and growing existing B2B customer accounts.
- Making proactive outbound sales calls to identify new business opportunities.
- Preparing competitive customer quotations, negotiating, and winning the business.
- Building and managing your own sales pipeline to develop repeat business.
- Keeping your CRM database, live opportunities, and follow-ups up to date.
- Working towards daily activity KPIs alongside monthly sales, revenue, and profit targets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What makes someone successful here?
You’ll already have sales experience and be completely comfortable picking up the phone, working towards targets, and asking for the business. But we’re looking for more than quick wins. Our strongest Account Managers combine pace with persistence. They understand that good pipelines take time to build and that today’s quote could become tomorrow’s long-term customer.
You will be:
- Hungry: You want to grow your results and earnings month after month.
- People-focused: You enjoy building genuine, long-term B2B customer relationships.
- Persistent: You systematically follow up quotes and opportunities rather than waiting for the phone to ring.
- Target-driven: Outbound calls, volume, revenue, and profitability genuinely motivate you.
- Organised: You take total ownership of your CRM pipeline and day-to-day admin.
- Coachable: Confident, but without the ego; willing to listen, learn, and improve.
If you’re currently successful in a fast-paced or transactional sales environment but want to develop into true B2B account management, this is your ideal next step.
