The Role

No previous experience in sales or the TIC (Testing, Inspection & Certification) industry is required – full training and ongoing development will be provided.
You’ll learn how to build strong client relationships, understand our services, and support customers in finding the right solutions for their needs. Over time, you’ll take on more responsibility for managing your own clients and developing new business opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the promotion and sale of testing and sustainability services, working closely with the existing commercial team.
- Assist in identifying potential new clients and helping to convert enquiries into opportunities.
- Learn how to cross-sell our full range of products and services, including training and membership.
- Support in preparing and delivering presentations to clients.
- Develop strong customer relationships and help resolve any issues that may arise.
- Maintain and update the CRM system, ensuring all activity, leads, and follow-ups are accurately recorded.
- Participate in sales meetings and contribute to discussions on opportunities and priorities.
- Support marketing and promotional activities, including webinars and client events.
- Gain exposure to account management and business development processes as part of your progression.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.
- A positive, proactive and confident communicator who enjoys engaging with people.
- A highly self-motivated and proactive individual who is comfortable working independently, managing their own schedule, and taking the initiative to identify and pursue opportunities.
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills in a commercial environment.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to achieve and grow within the role.
- Team player with a collaborative attitude and a flexible approach to work.
- Comfortable spending significant time visiting clients, attending industry events, and developing relationships in person. The role is expected to involve approximately 50% office-based activity and 50% time on the road engaging with customers and prospects. (Pool car provided).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, enthusiastic personality are essential. We place greater emphasis on attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn than on previous sales experience.
