Sales & Estimating Administrator - Wakefield – Construction

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary to £40,000 plus benefits and pension

Are you a highly organised professional with an eye for detail and a background in sales administration? Join the team in Wakefield as a Sales & Estimating Administrator and play a vital role in this business servicing the construction sector.

In this essential position, you will provide critical administrative and coordination support to the Sales and Estimating teams. You will ensure smooth day-to-day operations by managing the end-to-end sales cycle, from initial enquiry to after-sales support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order & Enquiry Processing: Log and process customer orders and enquiries accurately within our CRM and estimating systems.
  • Estimating & Tender Support: Assist in preparing cost estimates, quotes, and tender documents by gathering supplier rates, formatting submissions, and tracking deadlines.
  • Document & Legal Review: Check wording, clauses, and legal details in orders, tenders, warranties, and appointment documents to ensure alignment with our terms of business.
  • Customer Service: Act as a main point of contact for customer enquiries via phone and email, providing professional support and resolving after-sales issues.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate customer, job, and pricing records within the company database.
  • Team Collaboration: Liaise with internal departments to ensure seamless handovers and assist with ad-hoc reporting or administrative tasks.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience in a sales administrative role is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and CRM software.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry and a sharp eye for reviewing contract and legal wording.
  • Communication & Organisation: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Resilience: A problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
  • Industry Interest: An interest in construction, engineering, or compliance sectors is desirable but not essential.
