The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Administrator to join us at Kluman & Balter! We are a friendly team who works hard to distribute and supply bakery ingredients to the food industry – a job we are passionate about and one we’ve been doing for 100 years, making us one of the UK’s leading food wholesalers!
The position is full time, office based in Waltham Abbey, Essex. A competitive salary is offered based on experience.
About the role:
The Sales Administrator provides administrative support to the external field sales team, ensuring the smooth processing of multiple sales orders, customer enquiries, and sales-related documentation. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating communications with customers, and assisting in achieving sales objectives through efficient administrative processes.
Your responsibilities:
Sales Support & Business Development
- Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for the external sales team with customer enquiries, order management, and administrative support
- Where applicable, provide pricing information to customers at order placement
- Recommend new and existing product lines to support customer growth initiatives
- Analyse lost and lapsed product lines to actively encourage customers to order these and advise external sales team accordingly
- Conduct outbound calls to existing and prospective customers daily
- Follow up on marketing campaigns and sales enquiries

Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales process
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries via phone, email, and online channels
- Taking ownership of customer queries and driving issues through to resolution
- Providing delivery updates, ETAs, and resolving logistics issues where required
- Work closely with finance teams to support invoicing, credit notes, and payment queries

Data Management
- Maintain sales databases with accurate customer and sales information
- Monitor and update pricing, product, and customer information
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative or sales support role
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Desirable
- Experience working within a B2B sales environment
- Experience of Food Ingredients business
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
- Understanding sales processes and customer service principles
- Experience using CRM systems
- Experience of developing and managing customer relationships
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Thursday 08.00- 17.00 and Friday 08.00 - 16.30
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
