Description
Sales Administrator
Northampton | £27,000 - £29,000 DOE | Temporary to Permanent
Are you an experienced Sales Administrator looking for a role where you can take ownership, work closely with customers and become a valued part of a growing business?
We're working with an established manufacturing business based in Northampton to recruit a Sales Administrator into a brand-new position created due to continued growth.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the commercial side of administration - speaking to customers, supporting sales activity, keeping things organised and making sure opportunities don't get missed.
You'll work closely with the sales team, supporting the day-to-day sales operation while also having the opportunity to get involved in areas such as reporting, customer analysis and some general business administration.
There is a small amount of finance administration within the role, including supporting with invoices and purchase orders, but the main focus is Sales Administration and customer support.
Why is this a great opportunity?
This is much more than a traditional sales admin position.
The role has been created from scratch, meaning you'll have the opportunity to put your own stamp on it, improve processes and take ownership rather than simply following the same routine every day.
The business is well established but continues to grow, offering the successful candidate the chance to develop alongside the company and build a long-term career.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
