Do you have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales?

At Jewson, part of STARK Building Materials UK, we are looking for a Sales Advisor to join our friendly branch team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, providing expert advice, and helping customers find the right solutions for their projects.

Whether you have experience in a builders' merchant or come from a retail, trade, customer service, or sales background, we would love to hear from you.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:30-1700, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering outstanding service to trade and retail customers, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Building strong customer relationships by understanding customer needs and recommending the right products and solutions.
  • Identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
  • Processing customer orders accurately and ensuring they are fulfilled efficiently.
  • Developing new customer accounts while maintaining existing and lapsed customer relationships.
  • Working closely with suppliers and colleagues to deliver the best possible customer experience.
  • Supporting stock control, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised branch.
  • Following company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on health and safety.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a customer service or sales role.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience.
  • Experience within a builders' merchant or knowledge of building materials would be an advantage, but it is not essential. If you have the right attitude and a passion for customer service, we will provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
