Job Purpose

Due to continued growth within our Total Waste Management (TWM) division, we are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Sales Advisor at our Head Office in Stourport. This is a fast-paced role supporting national customers with waste management services across a wide range of sectors. This role will support the growth of Slicker’s Total Waste Management services by managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations, and proactively identifying opportunities to increase revenue across both existing and new customers. Sales will be generated through the retention of existing business and by seeking growth through outbound sales and marketing campaigns. Full training will be provided on our services, internal systems, and relevant waste regulations.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • All aspects of customer service including effective management of TWM enquiries through the central inbox.
  • Accurately record enquiries, quotations, and sales activity within the CRM system.
  • Answer incoming calls and deal with day-to-day queries.
  • Liaise with approved suppliers to arrange collections and coordinate service delivery.
  • Resolve customer queries where possible and escalate more complex issues to the TWM Manager where required.
  • Daily order processing for both pre-planned schedules and adhoc works.
  • Confirm collection dates and estimated times of arrival (ETAs) with customers via phone and email.
  • Seek opportunities to upsell and cross-sell to existing customers and source new TWM customers.
  • Proactively oversee complex collections to ensure services are delivered to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Execute regular promotional activity and call campaigns as set by the TWM Manager.
  • Highlight areas of non-compliance and educate customers on waste legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain sales pipeline.
  • Prepare quotations in line with agreed pricing structures, ensuring margins are maintained and opportunities for value-added services are identified.
  • Demonstrating Slicker’s values within your role. “People rarely succeed unless they have Fun in what they are doing.”

Key Skills

  • A minimum of 12 months experience within a customer service, sales support, or administrative environment.
  • Professional and collaborative approach when liaising with colleagues across the business.
  • An initiative-taking and focused approach with the ability to complete work with pace and urgency, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • GCSE’s (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and Excel is essential.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and to multiple deadlines.
  • Flexibility may be required to assist other members of the department during busy periods.
  • Positive and able to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent numeracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous industry experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Hours of work

  • 40 hours per week - 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Salary: £27,150.03 per annum plus commission
