Sales and Design Consultant - Full Time (40 hours per week)

Millhouse Furniture & Interiors is Leeds' independent furniture haven, showcasing fine English upholstery, Italian leather pieces, and curated home interiors. As a family-run showroom, we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, quality craftsmanship, and inspiring room designs.
The Role
We are looking for a creative and customer-focused Sales and Design Consultant to join our showroom team. You will guide customers through their home furnishing journey, from initial inspiration to final delivery, combining strong sales skills with an eye for interior design.
This is a full-time, floor-based role ideal for someone who loves interiors, enjoys building relationships, and thrives on helping customers create beautiful homes.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, knowledgeable welcome to all showroom visitors and deliver outstanding 1-to-1 customer service
- Understand customer needs, lifestyle and budget to recommend suitable furniture, fabrics, and accessories
- Create inspiring room schemes and mood boards, advising on colour, scale, fabric selection and layout
- Conduct home consultations (in-store and virtual) where required
- Manage the full sales process: quotations, orders, deposits, delivery liaison and aftercare
- Maintain exceptional showroom standards - merchandising, displays, and product knowledge
- Keep up to date with new collections, suppliers, and interior trends
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally to ensure 5-star reviews
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in furniture sales, interior design, home interiors retail, or high-ticket consultative sales is highly desirable
- A genuine passion for interiors with a strong sense of style and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and listening skills with a natural ability to build rapport
- Customer-focused with a proven ability to provide trusted advice and close sales
- Professional, reliable, and able to work 40 hours per week on a rota including weekends
- Full UK driving licence desirable

Hours:
40 hours per week, Monday to Saturday with a day off in the week, plus Sunday on rota (showroom hours).
