Sales & Events Coordinator
We are looking for a Sales & Events Coordinator to join our friendly and driven team.
Surgeons Quarter is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Sales & Events Coordinator to join our Sales & Events team in the heart of Edinburgh. From conferences and professional meetings to weddings, exhibitions and special events, you'll play a key role in bringing a wide range of events to life across our unique venues.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinating conferences, meetings, weddings and special events from planning through to delivery.
- Building strong relationships with clients and understanding their requirements.
- Coordinating venue layouts, catering, AV/IT and other event requirements.
- Working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Managing event documentation, deposits, contracts and invoicing.
- Responding to enquiries and helping convert them into confirmed business.
- Identifying opportunities to increase revenue through additional services and event enhancements.
- Converting incoming event enquiries into confirmed business, responding promptly and professionally to maximise conversion opportunities.
- Proactively generating new business through outbound sales activity, including telephone calls, email campaigns, networking, client visits, site visits and follow-up of previous enquiries.
- Supporting networking, venue visits, wedding fairs and other sales activities.
- Helping us continually improve our events and customer experience.

What are we looking for?
- Experience coordinating events, conferences, meetings, weddings or hospitality functions.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A proactive, positive and solution-focused approach.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and events.
- Experience in a hotel, conference centre or events venue, and familiarity with booking, CRM or venue management systems, would be advantageous.
Who are we?
Surgeons Quarter, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has developed its property and facilities to create an integrated conferencing and events facility within the College campus, including the stylish 129-bedroom hotel, Ten Hill Place Hotel and The Gait at Hill Square, our holiday apartments.
The facilities lend themselves to a variety of activities and events including conferences, professional meetings, weddings, exhibitions and social events. SQ manage a large food and beverage operation, which includes management of venue bars, private banqueting, offsite catering and a high street café, Café 1505.

Surgeons Quarter, in conjunction with SpaceUK, operate one of the largest Edinburgh Festival Fringe venues and additionally SQ in association with “Spirit of Scotland” is an extensive provider of Scottish dinner show Evenings.
In 2020, SQ opened Surgeons Quarter Travel as a member of Hays Independence Group.
Our offices on Roxburgh Place are a renovated late 18th century building now fully modernised and open plan. The space offers a welcoming, bright and contemporary working environment.
