About the Role
JMC Aviation is currently recruiting for a Sales and Key Account Manager on behalf of our client, a leading organisation within the aviation sector. This role will combine sales leadership with key account management, supporting sustainable business growth by identifying and converting new opportunities while developing strong, strategic relationships with priority customers.
The aviation industry is constantly evolving, and this position will play a key role in developing and delivering sales and account strategies that align with customer requirements, market changes, and long-term commercial objectives. Reporting to the VP Sales, you will act as the primary point of contact for nominated key accounts, leading commercial activity throughout the sales cycle and ensuring customer requirements are effectively represented internally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers to support long-term business growth and success.
- Take ownership of tactical and commercial deliverables for key customer accounts, including:
- Revenue growth
- Sales conversion
- Target margins
- Customer satisfaction and Net Promoter Score objectives
- Represent key accounts and sales opportunities internally to support continuous improvement of service levels, product development, bid activity, and overall company performance.
- Develop a detailed understanding of customer markets, products, services, competitive positioning, and industry challenges to identify, qualify, and progress new sales opportunities.
- Manage customer requirements, feedback, and commercial activities for aircraft and portfolio programmes, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and business leaders at all levels across customer accounts.
- Attend customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events to maximise networking and relationship-building opportunities.
- Ensure clients and prospects are proactively engaged through regular communication and manage the timely production, follow-up, and closure of quotations.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, account plans, and customer records to support business planning and decision-making.
- Provide regular reporting on sales activity, account performance, revenue opportunities, and customer insights.
- Support annual key account reviews, sales planning activities, and marketing planning processes.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to develop content plans that support account strategies.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to identify, develop, and convert opportunities across Tier 2 and Tier 3 accounts.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience, commercial performance, and operational growth.

Candidate Requirements
- Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn, take initiative, and proactively identify sales opportunities.
- Demonstrable experience in sales, account management, or business development.
- Customer-focused with an authentic win/win approach.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organisation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Broad understanding of the aviation industry, particularly:
- Aircraft leasing and trading.
- Used serviceable materials and aircraft parts markets.
- Aircraft MRO operations and the relationship between these sectors.
- Strong negotiation skills with a commercial mindset and ability to solve problems effectively.
- Experience managing sales pipelines, account planning, and converting opportunities into profitable business.
- Experience in programme management.
- Degree qualification or equivalent relevant commercial experience.
