Sales and Marketing Director
Location: Rotherham/Chatteris
Contract: Permanent Full Time
Salary: Competitive including car allowance/company car & STI bonus
Department: Sales and Marketing
Reporting to: General Manager, Food, North Western Europe
About The Role
ALS Laboratories (UK) Limited is seeking an experienced Sales and Marketing Director to lead our UK food sales, customer services and marketing functions.
You will be responsible for delivering the commercial strategy, achieving revenue and profitability targets, developing new business opportunities and strengthening relationships with key clients. Working as part of the North Western Europe Food leadership team, you will help drive sustainable growth, innovation and continuous improvement across the business.
The Day to Day
- Lead and deliver the UK sales and marketing strategy.
- Achieve revenue, EBIT and ROS targets.
- Grow the food testing business through new business, diversification and cross-selling.
- Develop strong relationships with key clients and support customer retention.
- Lead pricing, contract negotiations and commercial development.
- Drive digitalisation, AI and automation across sales, marketing and customer services.
- Monitor KPIs, improve business performance and deliver monthly business reporting.
- Lead, motivate and develop the sales, customer services and marketing teams.
- Support ALS sustainability, safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with ALS policies, legal requirements and ISO 17025 standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across ALS globally.

The Essentials
You will have:
- Significant commercial and leadership experience within the food industry.
- A strong record of delivering business growth and achieving financial targets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability and organisational skills.
- A curious and innovative mindset, with an interest in technology and automation.
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
