Sales & Marketing Expert
We are compiling a team of experts to support an undergraduate student looking to build on his skillset ahead of joining a family business. The goal is to prepare the student for leadership and to provide him with skills alongside his studies that will enable him to enter the world of work with confidence and make valuable contributions. The student will be working with a number of specialists across complementary disciplines. We are now looking for an experienced sales and marketing expert to provide a focused programme exploring how businesses understand their customers, build brands, generate demand and sell effectively.
This programme is intended to give the student a practical understanding of the disciplines of sales and marketing, moving beyond academic theory to explore how these functions operate in successful organisations. This is intended to be a highly interactive programme, drawing wherever possible on real campaigns, brands, sales situations, and the mentor's own professional experience.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced senior sales and/or marketing practitioner with a strong track record of applying these disciplines in real-world organisations. A current or former Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) with significant exposure to sales and customer acquisition could be particularly well suited to the programme. We would also welcome experienced Marketing Directors, Sales Directors, Chief Revenue Officers, senior brand leaders, Heads of Sales or senior sales and marketing practitioners who can demonstrate substantial hands-on experience. The strongest candidates will be able to teach from experience rather than theory alone, using examples of brands, campaigns, customer interactions and sales situations to bring the subject to life.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Programme Objectives
The programme should give the student a strong practical grounding in the fundamentals of modern sales and marketing, while helping him develop the confidence to apply these skills himself. By the conclusion of the masterclass programme, the student should have developed a clear understanding of areas including, but not limited to:
- Understanding the Customer
- Brand & Positioning
- Marketing
- Sales Processes and Customer Retention
Proposed Structure
The structure will be developed collaboratively, with 6-week sprints of masterclasses and an additional 2 weeks for embedding and reflecting on learning. Short practical assignments between sessions are encouraged, particularly where these require the student to observe, analyse or practise real sales and marketing techniques. The programme should evolve in response to the student's interests and aptitude, allowing greater depth to be introduced in areas where he demonstrates particular curiosity or ability.
