Role Description
The Sales and Purchasing Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Fareham. This position supports the sales team by preparing quotes, processing customer orders, responding to inquiries, and maintaining accurate records in internal systems. The role also assists with purchasing activities, including raising purchase orders, tracking deliveries, liaising with suppliers, and monitoring stock levels to ensure timely availability of products. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with internal departments, updating product and pricing information, and providing general administrative support to help ensure smooth commercial operations.

- Solid administrative and organizational skills, including experience with data entry, document management, and maintaining accurate records.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, and basic ERP or inventory systems) and ability to learn new digital tools quickly.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for working with clients, suppliers, and colleagues in a professional manner.
- Attention to detail and numerical accuracy for handling quotes, pricing, orders, and stock-related information.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work reliably in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Experience in sales support, purchasing, or supply chain roles is beneficial, particularly within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Understanding of basic commercial processes (quotations, purchase orders, invoicing) and an interest in the water or construction industry is an advantage.
- Education or training in business administration, supply chain, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory when offset by relevant experience.
