Role Description
The Sales and Sponsorship Executive will play a key role in generating revenue and building long-term partnerships that support AFC Wolves CIC’s community and player development mission. Working in a hybrid arrangement based in Wolverhampton with some work from home, this role will involve identifying potential sponsors, developing tailored sponsorship proposals, and managing relationships with local businesses, corporate partners, and community organizations.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Prospecting new partners
- Conducting outreach via email, phone, and face-to-face meetings
- Maintaining a sponsorship pipeline and CRM records
- Ensuring sponsor benefits are delivered accurately and on time
The Executive will collaborate with club leadership and coaching staff to align sponsorship packages with events, teams, and development programmes, and will support matchday and club events to activate and showcase sponsor partnerships. The role also includes:
- Tracking performance against revenue targets
- Preparing reports and presentations
- Contributing ideas to grow the club’s visibility, merchandise sales, and fundraising initiatives
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in sales, sponsorship, or business development, ideally within sports, community organizations, or related sectors.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage local businesses, partners, and community groups.
- Proficiency in communication and presentation, including preparing clear proposals, reports, and pitch materials for a variety of audiences.
- Solid organizational and administrative abilities, including maintaining CRM or database records, tracking pipelines, and meeting revenue targets.
- Comfort using digital tools and platforms for outreach, including email, social media, and basic marketing channels to support sponsorship visibility.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing time effectively between on-site and remote activities.
- Understanding of, or strong interest in, grassroots football and community development, with a commitment to AFC Wolves CIC’s inclusive values.
- Relevant education or training in fields such as business, marketing, sports management, or a related discipline is beneficial but not essential.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to support matchdays, events
