JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
Having recently won ‘Computing and Hardware Distributor of the Year’, CMS takes great pride in seeking out emerging & innovative technologies to bring to market and we are now recruiting Sales Apprentices to join our ever-growing team!
Offering a £22,000 basic salary plus bonus, opportunities to visit other CMS sites and ongoing training & development, we are looking for self-motivated individuals passionate about kick-starting their professional careers in IT sales.
In this role, you will work towards attaining various sales competency accreditations as part of your apprenticeship. Understanding the Sales Cycle, Objection Handling, setting SMART Objectives, positioning products and technologies with Customers & more skills required to succeed in a Technical Sales role.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gain an understanding of CMS, where we are positioned in the market and who are competition is.
- Develop and create a great working relationship with our experienced teams across the organisation.
- Build an understanding of CMS’ key Vendors and Technologies.
- Supporting the creation of high-level presentations for Quarterly Business Reviews with Vendors & Customers alike.
- Supporting on-site events with our vendors, who will be delivering the latest training and insights into industry and products when visiting our offices.
- Learning about the sales pipeline and forecasting, working towards building your own pipeline of opportunities.
- Driving Efficiencies- Assess manual administration tasks and seek to automate or streamline processes.
- Attend business meetings and Vendors, Customers, and internal CMS teams.
- Timely management of workflow through email, CMS systems and diary schedule.
- Learning how to manage Customer and Vendor pricing and keeping data accurate & up to date on our internal systems.
- Successfully complete CMS Vendor Accreditations to enhance knowledge of the technologies and articulate the features and benefits with our reseller partners.
- Create & deliver a quarterly presentation on your development and achievements to the CMS Leadership Team.
- Assist Sales and Purchasing Teams with administration when required to ensure Customers are provided with accurate proposals, collateral and any other information required.
- Create sales quotations to share and follow up with our clients.
- Join Senior Managers on Customer site visits to gain vital experience of face-to-face engagement and presentation skills.
- Always act as an Ambassador for CMS Distribution to ensure a professional image for the Company. Actively contribute and function as a role model for the CMS values.

SKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Passionate about technology and how it can solve problems & drive efficiencies.
- Excellent communication skills & ability to present in public.
- Desire to learn about business communication and negotiation.
- Looking to build a career in technical sales or product management.
- Achieved a Grade C/4 in Mathematics and English GCSE to be eligible for the programme.
- Educated to Leaving Certificate or to A-level standard or equivalent.
- Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word & Teams.
