Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sales Area Manager to join our team at the Mors Smitt (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd), based in Burton on Trent.

Contract Type

Permanent, Full-Time

What will your typical day look like?

  • Serve existing customers and improve the performance of their accounts.
  • Establish and manage the current and future commercial distribution network for these products.
  • Identify new markets and customers by designing new commercial strategies (together with the commercial management team).
  • Collect and share relevant market information, recording all commercial activities in the company’s systems (Navision and/or Salesforce).
  • Create and drive new commercial actions for Technical Promotion and Sales and regularly engage with Technical Departments of leading engineering companies, utilities, and OEMs.
  • Carry out visits to international customers and participate in the main industry trade fairs.
  • Prepare the annual budget together with the commercial management team.

What do we want to know about you?

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience

  • 2–3 years of sales experience in electrical‑electronic environments within the industrial and/or power sector.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and developing business opportunities within technical markets.
  • Experience working with utilities, OEMs, engineering companies, or distribution networks is highly valued.
  • Availability for frequent international travel.

Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Languages: Fluent English. Other languages will be valued.
  • General Knowledge: Microsoft Office.
  • Specific Knowledge: CRM, sales process management, market research, sales force management, and related areas.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong customer focus, results orientation, and proactive mindset.
  • Well-organized, resilient, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within an international team.
