Sales Assistant – Bicester
15 Hours Per Week
Fixed-Term Contract | Until the end of January 2027
We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our small, welcoming team in our Bicester shop.
At Emma Bridgewater, our shops are all about creating a lovely experience for our customers. We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys talking to people, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of representing our brand with warmth, personality and care.
You’ll be part of a small team, so being a reliable, supportive and flexible team player is essential. Every day can be different, and we need someone who is happy to turn their hand to whatever needs doing — from helping a customer choose the perfect piece, to unpacking a delivery, refreshing displays or keeping the shop looking its best.
Flexibility is essential
As part of a small retail team, flexibility is imperative. You’ll need to be willing to adapt to changing priorities, support your colleagues and work different shifts where required, including busy periods including Black Friday, weekends and seasonal trading, Christmas Eve/Boxing Day.

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
- Welcoming and serving customers with a polite, friendly and helpful approach
- Providing excellent customer service and confidently answering product questions
- Offering product advice and helping customers find the right item for them
- Processing cash and card payments accurately
- Handling product returns and refunds
- Answering the telephone and taking orders over the phone
- Opening and closing the tills
- Keeping the shop clean, tidy and beautifully presented
- Arranging products on shelves and maintaining promotional displays
- Supporting new product and seasonal launches
- Unpacking, checking and sorting deliveries
- Assisting with stock management and inventory
- Reporting any stock, customer service or operational issues to management
- Supporting your colleagues and helping wherever needed

Qualifications
About you
Previous retail or customer service experience would be useful, but we’re more interested in your attitude, personality and approach to customers.
You’ll be confident, warm and personable, with the ability to make customers feel welcome and valued. You’ll understand that the way we present ourselves, our products and our shop is an important part of the Emma Bridgewater experience.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes pride in what they do and brings a positive attitude to work every day.
