Role Purpose

To drive sales growth by developing strong customer relationships, processing enquiries and quotations, identifying opportunities to increase revenue, and providing exceptional customer service across ESCCO's range of welding, engineering, automation, and industrial products. The Sales Associate will act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them select the most suitable solutions for their operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Manage inbound sales enquiries via telephone, email, website, and trade account customers.
  • Generate and follow up quotations to maximise conversion rates.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the ESCCO product portfolio.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing customers to strengthen relationships and increase account value.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Support sales campaigns, promotions, product launches, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Help achieve individual and team sales targets.

Customer Service

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and technical guidance.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers across engineering and manufacturing industries.
  • Resolve customer queries, order issues, and delivery concerns efficiently.
  • Ensure customers receive accurate product recommendations and pricing information.

Product & Technical Support

  • Develop knowledge of ESCCO's welding equipment, consumables, automation solutions, fume extraction systems, and associated products.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal technical teams to ensure customers receive the best solution.
  • Support product demonstrations, customer visits, exhibitions, and open-day events when required.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate customer records within the CRM and ERP systems.
  • Process quotations, sales orders, purchase requests, and customer documentation.
  • Monitor sales opportunities and maintain an effective pipeline.
  • Produce reports and updates for management as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a sales, customer service, or account management role.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proactive, motivated, and results-driven.

Desirable

  • Experience within welding, engineering, manufacturing, industrial supply, tooling, PPE, automation, or technical product sectors.
  • Knowledge of MIG, TIG, plasma cutting, fume extraction, welding consumables, or engineering equipment.
  • Experience using CRM or ERP systems.
  • Understanding of consultative or solution-based selling techniques.
