About the Role
At Investec, we believe that extraordinary people create extraordinary outcomes. We're looking for a driven and relationship-focused Sales Associate to join our ambitious Corporate Banking sales team, helping us originate and develop new-to-bank clients across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with entrepreneurial and privately owned businesses, building new relationships and supporting their working capital needs. You'll play a key role in the growth of the business, acting as the bridge between business development and credit functions, while helping clients navigate their journey from initial engagement through to completion.
You'll join a collaborative, high-performing environment where client focus, entrepreneurial thinking and strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
What will I be doing?
- Driving new business origination directly with target customers within the working capital market.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities with privately owned and entrepreneurial organisations.
- Building, onboarding and maintaining introducer relationships in partnership with Regional Sales Directors.
- Conducting initial engagement with prospective clients and introducers, developing strong and lasting relationships.
- Completing first-line evaluation of opportunities, including reviewing financial information and conducting background research on prospective clients.
- Managing opportunities through the underwriting process, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete and of a high quality.
- Working closely with Risk, Relationship Management and wider Corporate Banking teams to support successful client onboarding and identify additional opportunities across the Investec product suite.
- Managing sales administration and ensuring all documentation and processes are completed efficiently through to client completion.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
