Sales Associate, GPS

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sales Associate, GPS.

This is an exciting position in the UK GPS Sales Team based in London. You’ll contribute greatly in the strategic delivery of our proposition. The business is looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the growth in our ‘UK Powerhouse’. Your focus is to support Senior Sales Managers to execute sales strategy and coordinate activity at the more sophisticated end of our corporate book.

In this role you will:

  • Support the Senior GPS Sales Manager in winning new business, coordinating commercial activity and reducing time-to-market through active portfolio management
  • Manage client queries, directing them to the relevant teams, monitor the portfolio and proactively track client escalations arising from service or implementation activities
  • Assist development of new customer opportunities and initiatives to expand our footprint and position HSBC as the partner of choice for domestic and cross-border Transaction Banking needs
  • Attend client meetings, support in preparing sales decks and relevant client materials as well as support complex sales opportunities and competitive tenders (‘RFPs’)
  • Ensure pricing & billing set up is clearly defined, communicated to the client (repricing, product renewals, new business setups etc) and stored in the client repository
  • Review monthly revenue analysis for defined client portfolio by preparing summaries/forecasts, communicating findings to respective Sales Managers, and investigating attrition where appropriate
  • Actively build product knowledge through structured learning and bilateral sessions with product teams

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Commercially driven, sales-minded approach with interest in identifying opportunities, shaping client propositions and supporting growth in a fair and ethical way
  • Desire to understand clients’ needs, act with empathy and translate insights into solutions that align with both the customer and the bank
  • Confident interpreting commercial information and market context to inform priorities, planning and results
  • Strong data analysis and technology capability (including AI proficient) to spot trends, target growth areas and improve the client experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills with the ability to simplify complex information, influence, negotiate effectively and present credibly to senior stakeholders
  • Strong risk and control discipline with proven experience ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory processes and high attention to detail
  • Highly organised with strong time management; able to manage competing deadlines, coordinate stakeholders and deliver outcomes at pace in a team environment
