Sales Branch Director

A Sales Branch Director at Lomond plays a pivotal role in growing local market share and leading a high-performing branch team within the surveying and property sector. This is an opportunity to shape commercial performance, develop client relationships and ensure excellent service delivery from a visible, hands-on leader.

Purpose of the Role

The Sales Branch Director is accountable for the branch’s sales performance, team leadership and operational standards. You will set strategy for local business development, ensure targets are met, and align branch activity with the organisation’s quality and compliance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the branch sales and operations team to meet revenue and margin targets.
  • Develop and execute local business development plans to win and retain clients in surveying and property services.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and represent the branch at local industry and community events.
  • Manage branch performance metrics, reporting and forecasting to senior management.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services, with attention to regulatory and sector best-practice standards.
  • Recruit, coach and develop staff, setting clear objectives and delivering regular performance feedback.
  • Control branch operating costs and support process improvements that enhance efficiency and client experience.

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Proven sales leadership experience within surveying, property or a closely related professional services sector.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding branch or regional sales targets.
  • Strong people management skills, including coaching, performance management and recruitment.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting and P&L oversight.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build credibility with clients and colleagues.
  • Eligibility to work in the location and any sector-specific regulatory requirements relevant to the role.

Desirable Skills And Experience

  • Experience of working in a multi-branch organisation or managing remote teams.
  • Established local network within property, surveying, estate agency or construction sectors.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales reporting tools and common property-sector software.
  • Commercial qualifications or relevant professional membership in surveying or property disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Relevant professional or vocational qualifications in surveying, property, business or sales are advantageous where the role genuinely calls for them.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in leadership, sales or sector-specific areas is desirable.
