Kemtile is the UK’s leading manufacturer & installer of hygienic flooring and drainage systems to the food and beverage market and a wide variety of other industries. Established in 1979, Kemtile has been trading for 40+ years and was acquired by Stonhard, part of the RPM Group in 2018 due to its established place in the UK market. Stonhard’s acquisition of Kemtile will enable the business to grow into new markets whilst staying established in the food and beverage industry.

Overview

The Sales & Business Development role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, generating and managing the sales pipeline, acquiring new customers, developing partnerships, and achieving agreed revenue. The role acts as a key link between the market, customers, and internal teams to drive sustainable business growth.

Job Role

Business Development

  • Identify new markets, industries, customer segments, and business opportunities.
  • Research potential customers, partners, and competitors.
  • Develop strategies to enter new markets or expand within existing ones.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential business opportunities.
  • Work with Key Account Manager to develop or penetrate key accounts

Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Identify and qualify potential customers.
  • Build prospect lists using networking, referrals, events, LinkedIn, databases, and other channels.
  • Conduct outreach through email, phone, social media, and meetings.
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers and influencers.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and pipeline information in the CRM.

Sales Management

  • Achieve agreed sales and revenue targets.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through to closing.
  • Understand customer needs and position the company's solutions accordingly
  • Maximize each account’s potential by cross-selling solutions and networking
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, quotations, and commercial offers.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and other commercial conditions.
  • Follow up consistently and convert qualified opportunities into customers.
  • Work with Key Account Manager to develop or penetrate key accounts

Personal Skills

  • Hard working and willing to work as part of a team
  • Able to adapt and think quickly to solve problems
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to build long lasting relationships and ask impactful questions

Working Experience

  • Experience within Construction or flooring Industry is desirable
  • Ability to effectively communicate and develop relationships at all levels including Architects, Engineers, Facilities Managers, Contracts/Project Managers, Company Owners, and Directors.
  • Business Development experience ideally in a construction environment
  • Experience in sales support, administration, marketing support, or similar
  • Experience working within a commercial, engineering, or project-based environment is advantageous.
  • Experience using CRM software. Ideally Salesforce

Qualifications

  • Sales & procurement training
  • Maths & English Qualifications
