Company Description

Electoral Calculus is a political consultancy specializing in quantitative analysis and modelling for electoral and market research projects. Founded by CEO Martin Baxter, the company is known for its use of advanced MRP polling which produces polling results at detailed geographic levels. It is regularly cited in the national media and consulted by MPs, candidates, and other opinion leaders.

Role Description

This is a part-time, remote Sales Business Development role. The individual in this role will identify and develop new business opportunities with commercial, charitable and campaigning clients. Day-to-day activities include researching potential clients, generating leads, conducting outreach via email, phone, and online channels, and presenting Electoral Calculus services and tools in a clear and compelling manner. The successful candidate will help grow revenue by converting prospects into long-term clients.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand quantitative polling products and translate them into clear value propositions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including confident written and oral client-facing communication.
  • Experience in lead generation and prospecting.
  • Background in market research or familiarity with research methodologies, particularly in political or commercial contexts.
  • Prior experience in sales, business development, or account management, ideally within consulting, analytics, or research-led organizations.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote setting, with organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
