Bovill & Boyd Engineering Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of moulded and extruded rubber products with over 50 years of industry experience. The company combines deep technical expertise with innovative production solutions to build long-term, cost-effective partnerships with customers. Supported by senior staff with decades of rubber manufacturing knowledge, Bovill & Boyd excels in solving complex, technical product challenges. With an on-site rubber mill, laboratory, and fully digitised ingredient management system, the company can develop bespoke compounds and ensure full batch traceability. Continuous investment in compression, injection, LSR, and plastic moulding machinery enables Bovill & Boyd to serve a wide range of industries and demanding applications.

Role Description

The Sales Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Fiddington. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, nurturing existing customer relationships, and expanding Bovill & Boyd’s presence across target industries.

  • Conducting sales meetings and technical discussions
  • Preparing proposals and quotations
  • Negotiating contracts
  • Collaborating closely with the technical and production teams to understand product capabilities, translate customer requirements into feasible solutions, and ensure timely delivery

The role also involves:

  • Maintaining accurate sales forecasts and CRM records
  • Attending relevant industry events
  • Contributing to strategic planning to drive sustainable revenue growth

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong sales and business development skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and contract negotiation.
  • Candidates should possess client relationship and account management skills, with the ability to build trust, manage expectations, and provide ongoing support.
  • Candidates should possess technical understanding of manufacturing or engineered products, ideally with exposure to rubber, plastics, or related materials.
  • Candidates should possess communication and presentation skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess organizational and analytical skills, such as CRM proficiency, data-driven decision-making, and accurate reporting.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in business, engineering, or a related field are beneficial, along with experience in B2B industrial or manufacturing sales.
  • Ability to work on-site in Fiddington, travel to customer locations as needed 2-3 days a week, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated approach, resilience in a competitive market, and a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and safety-focused business practices.
